Rowena red mastectomy bra

Wednesday, April 7th, 2010 by dimurini

The Rowena red mastectomy bra and briefs set has just been released in lingerie stores worldwide at a price of £45.00 .

This stunning mastectomy bra is ideal for a quiet night in or for an evening function.
This luxury mastectomy bra is made in deep red Italian satin with a classic French black lace appliqué intertwined with silver thread. The appliqué on the bra lies flat allowing it to be used underneath clothing that is tight fitting.

As with other Di Murini mastectomy bras and mastectomy camisoles it has the Di Murini ‘pocket release system’ patent pending.

The bra is lined fully with soothing cotton that is infused with Aloe Vera. To prevent irritation to the skin the bra has no tags present whilst the washing instructions are printed instead of being on a tag. The mastectomy bra has adjusters for the straps on the front for easy use.

This Rowena mastectomy bra is also now available in pink, ivory and black. Contact your local lingerie store to view the full range as we are currently in stores in Sweden, Canada, Australia, France, Ireland and the UK. Stores in New Zealand, USA, South Africa Germany, Norway and Switzerland will be registering in the next three months.

If the lingerie store isn’t currently one of our retailers then you may like to ask them to contact us to register with us and we can express ship direct to the mastectomy store?

New Discovery of Breast Cancer Change

Friday, November 6th, 2009 by dimurini

Research by Breakthrough Breast Cancer scientists in Edinburgh has discovered a new trait in breast cancer cases.  The scientists state that 40% of breast cancer tumours change form when they spread to other parts of the body.  This means that patients, who continue with the same treatment without further investigation, may be taking medication that will not work.

They analysed 211 tumours which had spread from breast cancer to the lymph nodes under the armpit and found that the disease changed form in a large number of cases.  For example, 20 tumours changed from oestrogen receptor (ER) negative to ER positive.  This means that hormone therapies that would not have helped the original cancer could be used to treat the changed form of cancer.  Other tumours changed from ER positive to ER negative, leading to patients having treatment which would not benefit, and they have to experience the side effects for no positive reason.

Of the 46000 women diagnosed with breast cancer each year, 40% experience the cancer spreading to the lymph nodes. It is vital that women receive the correct treatment, particularly as cancer cells which spread in this way are more difficult to treat.

The scientists state that a clinical trial must ensue, to further research into this discovery and see how they can benefit patients.  This research must be done before its approval on the NHS.

Di Murini exhibit at the National Breast Care Study Day

Tuesday, May 26th, 2009 by dimurini

dimurini_conference_15may

Di Murini was invited to attend the annual national conference held at the private Spire hospital in Solihull, UK. This gave us the opportunity to offer 50 breast care nurses from around the UK a sneak preview of Di Murini’s Rowena collection.

We displayed all our garments so the nurses, from all over the UK, attending the event could see for themselves the innovative and luxurious products.

The response was overwhelming with many nurses expressing how they had never seen such pretty mastectomy lingerie before. They were impressed that Di Murini didn’t just create a physically advanced, feminine bra but a full collection, including matching briefs and pyjamas, for women who required post-surgery lingerie.
