Taking the brave pre-emptive decision to protect against breast cancer is never an easy decision. Yet, more and more young women genetically prone to breast cancer are undergoing preventive mastectomies.
By removing tissue, mastectomies reduce the likelihood of developing breast cancer by approximately 95%. With mammograms proving less effective on the denser breast tissue of younger women, more are undertaking dramatic surgery to help ensure a healthier, cancer free future.
